Neuriva Plus is a nootropic brain supplement designed to support focus, memory, concentration, learning, accuracy, and reasoning.
The formula contains 100% natural ingredients that may support cognitive function based on the clinical research available. But the star compound in Neuriva Plus is what they call “Neurofactor,” a natural extract from the coffee plant’s fruit. (more on that below).
Introduction
Neuriva Plus is one of the many nootropics available today. However, unlike other similar brain supplements, Neuriva’s formulation is pretty simple, with just five active ingredients. But simple doesn’t mean necessarily “bad.”
Neuriva is available in several different forms: Original (just two active ingredients), Plus (the form we are going to review below), and De-Stress (designed to help support your brain performance, along with everyday stress reduction and relaxation). Neuriva Original and Neuriva Plus are also available as flavored gummies for those who don’t like taking capsules or tablets.
Who Makes It?
Neuriva Plus is made by Schiff Nutrition, a subsidiary of Reckitt Benckiser. Most of Schiff’s supplements are made at its manufacturing center in Salt Lake City. Products are sold in the United States at drugstores, mass merchandisers, supermarkets, and health food shops. Schiff also sells internationally.
Schiff Nutrition was founded in 1936 by Eugene Schiff, an immigrant from Hungary to Detroit, Michigan. Eugene was a visionary. Instead of following the industry trend of producing synthetic supplements, his first drug store started in 1936, focusing on natural foods with unique health features.
According to Schiff official website, the company retains Eugene’s vision of producing and selling high quality, natural products.
Schiff’s brands include Airborne Immune Support, Move Free Joint Support, MegaRed Heart & Health, Digestive Advantage Digestive Support, and Neuriva Brain Performance.

What is the Neurofactor compound?
The star ingredient in Neuriva Plus, Neurofactor, is a potent whole fruit extract of the Coffea Arabica plant. The extract comes from green coffee beans rather than from roasted coffee.
“Green coffee” beans are coffee beans of Coffea fruits that have not yet gone through a roasting process. Roasting coffee beans reduces the amounts of chlorogenic acid (a vital compound found abundantly in green coffee beans). Chlorogenic acid in green coffee is believed to have numerous health benefits.
The primary use of green coffee beans extract is for weight loss. This specific extract has become famous for managing weight after being featured in the Dr. Oz show in 2012. During the show, Dr. Oz referred to it as “the green coffee bean that burns fat fast” and stated that no diet or exercise is needed.
The claims made during Dr. Oz’s show are not fully supported by scientific evidence.
However, Schiff hasn’t included the green coffee beans extract (Neurofactor) into Neuriva Plus for its weight loss properties. According to cited research, Neurofactor has been shown to increase levels of BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor).
A 2016 study conducted by researchers from the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center showed interesting evidence that individuals with higher levels of BDNF tended to retain more of their cognitive functions even as the amyloid buildup.
In fact, individuals who had less BDNF activity experienced a 50% faster cognitive decline rate over the study’s 6 years than those with more activity.
The study showed that neuroprotein BDNF is capable of repairing broken neurons, as well as growing new ones.
Several other studies have been conducted since then, further proving the benefits of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). And with BDNF’s benefits being supported by science, supplement companies are now rushing to catch this new trend.
But what has Neurofactor had to do with BDNF?
Inflammation can be a determining factor for inhibiting the production and release of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor in the body. Because of the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of coffee fruits, scientists began to research the effects of coffee beans and various coffee beans components on BDNF levels in the body.
In one study, a selected group of participants received a whole coffee fruit antioxidant concentrate. In contrast, another group received an inert powder (placebo).
Researchers observed that the group who received the whole coffee fruit antioxidant concentrate experienced notable improvements in BDNF levels. And these improvements were seen in less than two hours.
Scientists concluded that coffee fruit antioxidants raise BDNF levels by enhancing your body’s ability to activate BDNF stored in platelets while also increasing DNA production of BDNF via anti-inflammatory pathways.
It is worth noting that both human clinical studies used 100 milligrams (mg) of whole coffee fruit antioxidant concentrate to increase BDNF levels.
How Much Does Neuriva Plus Cost?
Neuriva Plus list price is $49.49 for a 30 capsule bottle (30 servings). The flavored gummies variant costs $44.99 for a 50 gummies bottle (25 servings).
The supplement is widely available in local stores and supermarkets and online at retailers like Amazon, eBay, or Walmart. You can also buy the supplement from Schiff’s official website. However, they don’t seem to offer any special discounts for ordering directly from the company, so we recommend buying from trusted online stores like Amazon and benefiting from free shipping with Amazon Prime and discounted prices.

Conclusion
Neuriva Plus has all the ingredients of a good nootropic supplement: made by a reputable company, uses quality ingredients & high manufacturing standards, and offers a robust formulation with proven ingredients.
Neuriva Plus is also a step up from the basic Neuriva Original formula that offers nothing except for Coffee Fruit Extract (Coffea arabica) 100 mg of Coffee Fruit Extract and 100 mg of Phosphatidylserine.
We’ve seen some reviews rating Neuriva Plus badly because of its high price. The same reviews rated the Original formula poorly because it’s “too cheap for a quality nootropic.” We think the truth is somewhere in the middle.
Yes, the Plus variant costs about $50, but the price is justified by the quality ingredients. Not to mention that Phosphatidylserine is one of the most effective and most expensive ingredients you can add to a brain supplement.
Overall, considering the overwhelming number of positive testimonials, we would recommend Neuriva Plus to everyone looking for a reliable nootropic to support focus, memory, concentration, and learning.
