Our comprehensive ADDTabz review will provide detailed answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about this nootropic supplement.
We will look into ingredients and their role in the overall formulation. Our ADDTabz review will also analyze potential side effects, claimed benefits, effectiveness, price, and best stores to buy from and some similar supplements that may offer the same benefits.
What Is ADDTabz?
ADDTabz is a nootropic supplement marketed as an Adderall substitute that can help people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) to lengthen attention spans and increase focus for extended periods.
Many consumers prefer buying Adderall alternatives like ADDTabz simply because they don’t come with as many dangerous adverse effects, are cheaper, and available without a prescription.
Who Makes It?
This nootropic bran supplement is made by Lexium International (previously known as Gentech Pharmaceuticals). Lexium International also makes PhenTabz (weight loss and appetite suppressant).
Now, we have some concerns about this manufacturer. The first thing we’ve noticed while trying to access their official website is the lack of an SSL certificate, which means the website is not secure.
Another negative is the lack of relevant information about their two featured products. There’s nothing to read about ingredients, an essential piece of data every manufacturer must have on its website.
On top of that, we couldn’t find anything about how ADDTabz is supposed to work and why they claim it’s a viable substitute for Adderall.

ADDTabz Ingredients
ADDTabz contains the following active ingredients per serving (1 tablet): Folic Acid (as [6S]-5-Methyltetrahydrofolic Acid Glucosamine Salt) 1000 mcg and Proprietary Blend (Cytidine diphosphate-choline Sodium Salt, Caffeine Anhydrous, Synephrine Hydrochloride, Choline Bitartrate, and Octopamine Hydrochloride) 375 mg.
Other inactive ingredients include stearic acid, dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, FD&C Yellow #6 (Lake), silicon dioxide, FD&C Red #40 (Lake), and pharmaceutical glaze (shellac povidone).
ADDTabz targets those looking to improve their brain performance, more specifically students and scholars looking for a safer alternative to the often-misused ADD/ADHD prescription Adderall. It is often advertised as “scientifically proven” to produce effects such as improved memory, recall, and knowledge-retention, boosted energy levels, and enhanced focus and concentration.
But does it deliver on those promises?
Caffeine Anhydrous vs. Caffeine
Caffeine is the world’s most effective stimulant. However, just caffeine is not enough for some people. They use a highly concentrated caffeine powder, or caffeine anhydrous, to stimulate athletic performance or weight loss.
Caffeine anhydrous results from the seeds and leaves of coffee plants. The word “anhydrous” means “without water.” After harvesting, caffeine is extracted from the plant matter and dehydrated. This produces a highly concentrated caffeine powder.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a single teaspoon of caffeine powder is the equivalent of 28 cups of coffee.
The FDA recommends people to avoid caffeine anhydrous, mentioning the deaths of at least two young men who used the products.
Impelled by the increasing incidence of caffeine intoxication due to caffeine powder use, the FDA issued warning letters to five companies producing powdered caffeine in September 2015.
When not used in its powder form, caffeine does have beneficial properties:
- It enhances athletic performance, mainly when engaging in endurance sports;
- It improves concentration and reduces fatigue;
- It’s useful in relieving tension headaches, especially in combination with ibuprofen (Advil);
- Coffee drinkers have fewer gallstones;
- It contains antioxidants that may offer protection from heart disease, diabetes, and prevent or slow cell damage;
- It gives men some protection against Parkinson’s disease.
What Is Synephrine Hydrochloride?
Bitter orange extract (Citrus aurantium) is a natural extract commonly used in weight-loss supplements. Bitter orange contains high amounts of synephrine, a substance similar to the primary chemical in the herb ephedra (ma-huang).
However, ephedra was banned by the FDA because it raises blood pressure and has been linked to strokes and heart attacks.
While some research suggests that bitter orange may assist with modest weight loss combined with exercise and proper diet, it’s probably not worth the risk. That’s because bitter orange (and synephrine) may cause potentially serious health problems.
Similar to ephedra, synephrine may raise your blood pressure and speed up your heart rate.
Heart attacks and strokes have also been reported in some users after taking bitter orange alone or in with other stimulants such as caffeine. Besides, bitter orange may interact with some prescription medications.
Why is synephrine an ingredient in ADDTabz if it’s primary use is in weight loss? That’s a good question. It shouldn’t be, especially combined with caffeine anhydrous, another ingredient in this nootropic.
How Much Does It Cost?
ADDTabz list price is $79.00 (30 tablets / 30 servings). You can also buy two bottles and receive free domestic UPS ground shipping and a $30.00 discount.
Where To Buy It?
ADDTabz can be purchased from the Lexium International website. However, we advise caution as, at the time of this review, the website (including the shopping cart) was not using an SSL certificate.
We can’t recommend buying products from websites that are not 100% secure.
ADDTabz Review – Pros & Cons

ADDTabz Side Effects & Warnings
Over the years, Lexium International has developed a reputation for quality, designer pharmacology formulations for non-prescriptive solutions to health issues. These solutions do not provide users with the same adverse side effects as their prescription counterparts.
However, while ADDTabz is marketed as a side effect free nootropic supplement, some of the ingredients in this formulation are associated with several adverse effects such as sensations of burning, increased redness of the eye, blurred vision, headaches, tremors, nausea, sweating, nervousness, dizziness, racing or erratic heartbeat, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and abdominal pain.
ADDTabz Claims
According to Lexium International, ADDTabz has the following benefits:
- Increased energy;
- Improved concentration;
- Increased mental stamina and focus.
Furthermore, many “review” websites claim that ADDTabz has been “doctor verified” or “physician-approved.” No doctor has ever said that this nootropic is a better alternative to ADHD medication.
Customer Testimonials
It didn’t seem to help immediately. But after close to 2 weeks, I am noticing better concentration. I can do things methodically. I can read and concentrate on a book without being distracted.
I’ve been using the mental focus for some time. I decided to try another brand, due to me having Amazon prime and great product views. I came back after a month. This product provides clarity with the focus. All others are not quite the same. I highly recommend it.
Only giving it 3 stars because your AddTabz Plus is way Better, yet it’s almost impossible to receive a response from Lexium on how to submit an RX for them.
ADDTabz Alternatives
Before we conclude our ADDTabz review review, let’s take a quick look over several other similar focus and attention dietary supplements that may be good alternatives for those who are not convinced by this formula.
Attentive Child made by Source Naturals can be an excellent alternative to nootropics like ADDTabz. This natural brain supplement doesn’t contain caffeine. Instead, it includes some proven ingredients like Magnesium, DMAE, and L-Aspartate. Attentive Child is designed to support the multiple systems that affect your child’s brain metabolism.
Neuro Health made by Huntington Labs (Nature’s Craft) can be an excellent nootropic for people looking to improve their memory, cognitive health, attention, focus, and concentration. The only downside is the vast number of ingredients used in the formula, including a massive Proprietary Blend of amino acids and herbal extracts.
You can read our full Nature’s Craft Neuro Health review here.
Kids Formula made by Smarty Pants is one of the best multivitamin supplements for children. The formula only contains premium ingredients, is non-GMO, gluten-free, and has no synthetic colors/flavors. Kids formula can be used by children 4 years of age and older and provides a wide range of benefits like bone & immune health, energy, better focus, and improved learning abilities.
Bottom Line
Lexium International markets ADDTabz as the best alternative to prescription ADD/ADHD medications like Adderall.
But does it deliver on that promise?
There’s no other way to put it – we don’t think ADDTabz can be an alternative to Adderall; it’s not even a good nootropic.
With most of the ingredients hidden behind a Proprietary Blend, we believe ADDTabz is filled with ingredients with nothing to do with a nootropic for focus and attention. One such example is synephrine. We advise against the use of synephrine entirely. It is an ineffective weight loss supplement, and it has no nootropic properties whatsoever.
Caffeine anhydrous is another potentially dangerous ingredient hidden behind a proprietary formula, so consumers can’t even know how much of that stuff actually is there.
The nootropics market is full of quality products that don’t promise you the world and deliver quality, transparency, and safety.
