Standard Process Lawsuit

Shaklee is a well-established company that has been operating since 1956. It’s known for its line of nutritional supplements, weight-management products, beauty products, and household products. Over the years, Shaklee has faced a number of legal challenges. Here are some of the known lawsuits involving Shaklee:

List of Known Lawsuit for Shaklee

  1. In 1983, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed an administrative complaint against Shaklee, alleging deceptive practices in connection with their multi-level marketing program for distributors. Shaklee eventually settled with the FTC without admitting any wrongdoing, agreeing to make changes to their marketing practices.
  2. In 2003, a group of Shaklee distributors filed a lawsuit against the company alleging breach of contract, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, fraud, deceit, and wrongful termination of their distributorships. The court ruled in favor of Shaklee, and the ruling was upheld on appeal.
  3. In 2007, Shaklee was sued by a competitor, Nutrilite (a division of Amway), for allegedly making false and misleading statements about Nutrilite products. The case was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.
  4. In 2018, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Shaklee, alleging that they made false and misleading claims about their “environmentally friendly” cleaning products. The case was later dismissed.
  5. Shaklee has also faced other individual lawsuits over the years, mainly from disgruntled distributors or customers.

It’s important to note that lawsuits, especially in the realm of businesses and corporations, are quite common and don’t necessarily reflect on the overall integrity or quality of a company’s products. However, they should still be taken into account when researching a company.
