This in-depth Percepta review will focus on giving you, the reader, some detailed answers to all your questions regarding Percepta and the company behind this natural-plant based memory support supplement. During our Percepta review, we will take a closer look at Percepta’s potential side effects, claimed benefits, effectiveness, key ingredients, as well as the best price and best stores to buy it from.

But let’s start with the beginning.

What Is Percepta?

Developed by Dr. Alan Snow and Dr. Rudolph Tanzi, Percepta is advertised as a unique natural plant-based memory support supplement for the healthy aging brain. According to the official website, Percepta differentiates itself with a proprietary formulation of polyphenol, including PTI-00703 cat’s claw (Uncaria Tomentosa) and oolong tea extract.

PTI-00703 is a unique cat’s claw bark extract found primarily in the Amazon rainforest and sourced exclusively to Cognitive Clarity Inc. Dr. Alan Snow’s research teams discovered crucial new polyphenol ingredients in PTI-00703 cat’s claw essential for the reduction of brain plaques and tangles.

Percepta Ingredients

The following section of our Percepta review will focus on what’s actually inside the formulation, starting with the core ingredient (PTI-00703 Cat’s Claw) and also taking a closer look at the supporting component (MemorTea oolong tea leaves extract).

Percepta contains the following active ingredients: Proprietary Blend (PTI-00703 Cat’s Claw Bark Extract and MemorTea Oolong Tea Leaves Extract) 750 mg.

Other ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, and silica.

What Is Cat’s Claw Used For?

We don’t really see cat’s claw extracts being used in brain supplements. Why is that? Well, Cat’s Claw benefits on cognitive health haven’t been scientifically proven yet.

Cat’s claw is a climbing vine originating from the Amazon rainforest and other tropical areas of Central and South America, including Peru, Ecuador, Guyana, Colombia, Trinidad, Suriname, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, and Guatemala.

There are two main documented species of this plant, and they share similar chemical make-ups: Uncaria Tomentosa – the one used in Percepta, and Uncaria guianensis. Many native tribes have used Cat’s Claw for medicinally and for spiritual practice for millennia.

Cat’s claw has been researched and studied, most notably for its effects on the inflammatory pathways and the immune system.

A small study conducted by Lamm S., Sheng Y., and Pero R.W. on 27 men volunteers found that taking 700 mg of cat’s claw extract for two months enhanced their number of white blood cells, which are the body’s primary mechanism of fighting infections.

Cat’s claw may also relieve symptoms of osteoarthritis, the most common joint condition in the United States.

In one clinical study in 45 volunteers with osteoarthritis in the knee, taking 100 mg of cat’s claw extract for 28 days resulted in lessened pain during physical activity. No adverse effects were recorded.

In an eight-week study, a blend of maca root and cat’s claw reduced stiffness and pain in people with osteoarthritis. Also, participants required pain medication less often.

Oolong Tea Extract Benefits

The second active ingredient in Percepta is a trademark oolong tea extract called MemorTea. According to Cognitive Clarity Inc., this specific oolong tea is harvested from the Guan Yin mountain in China, and it contains vital components important for potent brain plaque and tangles inhibitory activity. MemorTea contains antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and L-Theanine essential to cognitive health.

So what exactly are the advantages of consuming oolong tea? First and foremost, oolong tea helps you burn fat faster by raising your metabolism for up to two hours after drinking it.

Oolong also contains polyphenols that can block enzymes that build fat. This means you can lose weight with oolong tea, so long as you don’t load it with refined sugar and artificial sweeteners.

Oolong tea is also known to revitalize your mental alertness and performance, naturally, because it contains caffeine. For starters, caffeine can increase the release of dopamine and norepinephrine. These two brain messengers are believed to benefit mood, attention, and brain function.

Further research shows that L-theanine, an amino acid in tea, may also relieve anxiety and help boost attention. One recent clinical research reports that tea containing both theanine and caffeine increased awareness and alertness within the first one to two hours after consumption.

Another similar clinical research has revealed that drinking green, black, or oolong tea regularly may help improve memory, cognition, information processing speed, and executive function.

Few studies have explicitly looked at oolong tea, but one found that regular tea drinkers had up to a 64% lower risk of brain function decline. This effect was particularly strong for regular black and oolong tea drinkers.

Although not all studies observed the same beneficial effects of oolong tea on brain function, none were found that showed adverse effects.

Percepta Side Effects

Cognitive Clarity Inc. claims that Percepta is perfectly safe to take with no known side effects. However, we advise caution when taking Percepta due to the inclusion of cat’s claw.

Cat’s claw may cause adverse effects in some people, including headache, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, low blood pressure, and vomiting.

If you are taking any medications, speak with your doctor before using Percepta. Cat’s claw is believed to interact with numerous pharmaceutical drugs, including allergy medication, antifungals, anticoagulants (blood thinners), cancer drugs, diuretics, immunosuppressants, oral contraceptives, and cholesterol medication.

Due to the lack of safety research, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children should not use cat’s claw.

How Much Does Percepta Cost?

One box of Percepta memory support supplement costs $49.99. The 60 capsules available in each box are enough for up to 30 days of treatment at a recommended dose of two (2) capsules daily.

Where To Buy?

Several online stores are selling Percepta memory support supplement. We recommend buying the supplement from Amazon with the “Subscribe and Save” option. That will save you about 10% on the listed price. On top of that, Amazon offers free shipping, as well as international shipping for orders from outside the continental U.S.

Conclusion

Percepta is one of the most exciting supplements we’ve reviewed so far. The formula is backed up not by one but by two renowned brain aging researchers – Dr. Alan Snow and Dr. Rudolph Tanzi. This aspect is essential as most supplements nowadays lack any form of scientific support.

We will conclude our Percepta review by saying this: while the formula looks really basic (only two active ingredients), there is research suggesting that the cat’s claw and oolong tea extract may work synergistically to provide some cognitive benefits.

Are these two ingredients among the most popular ingredients in brain supplementation? No, they are not. But the amount of clinical research and studies presented on Percepta’s official website is encouraging and seems to back up most of the claims around this dietary supplement.
